To ensure that fonts used on this website are uniform, this website uses so-called web fonts provided by Google. When you access a page on our website, your browser will load the required web fonts into your browser cache to correctly display text and fonts.

To do this, the browser you use will have to establish a connection with Google's servers. As a result, Google will learn that your IP address was used to access our website. The use of Google Fonts is based on our interest in presenting our online content in a uniform and appealing way. According to Article 6 Section 1 of the EU GDPR, this is a legitimate interest.

Social Plugins (Facebook / Twitter)

Facebook

The ESN website uses social plugins from the social network facebook.com, which is operated by Facebook Inc., 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA ("Facebook"). The social plugins are marked with a Facebook logo, a "thumbs up" sign or the addition "Facebook Social Plugin". Documentation and the design of the various social plugins can be viewed in the developer area of Facebook.

When you visit a page on our website that contains such a plugin, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Facebook servers. The content of the social plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and incorporated by this into the website.

Thus, we have no influence on the extent of the data collected by Facebook with the help of this social plugin. By integrating the plugins, Facebook receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Facebook, Facebook can assign the visit to your Facebook profile. If you interact with the social plugins, for example, press the "Like" button or leave a comment, the information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and stored there. If you are not a member of Facebook, there is still the possibility that Facebook will find out and save your IP address.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Facebook as well as the related rights and setting options to protect your privacy, can be viewed in the data use guidelines of Facebook.

If you are a Facebook member and you do not want Facebook to collect data from you via our website and link it to your member data stored on Facebook, you must log out of Facebook before visiting our website and delete cookies on your system, if applicable. In addition, it is possible to prevent the function of social plugins with browser extensions such as the Facebook Blocker.

Twitter Buttons

The ESN website uses buttons of the microblogging service twitter.com, which is operated by Twitter Inc., 795 Folsom St., Suite 600, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA ("Twitter"). The buttons are marked with a Twitter logo and terms such as "Twitter", "Follow" or "Tweet". With the help of the buttons it is possible to share an article or a page of our website on Twitter or to follow us on Twitter.

When you visit a page on our website that contains such a button, your browser establishes a direct connection to the Twitter servers. The content of the Twitter buttons is transmitted by Twitter directly to your browser and incorporated by the latter into the website.

We therefore have no influence on the extent of the data that Twitter collects with the help of this button. By integrating the buttons, Twitter receives the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged in to Twitter, Twitter can assign the visit to your Twitter profile. If you interact with the buttons, for example, press the "Follow" button or send a tweet, the corresponding information is transmitted directly from your browser to Twitter and stored there. If you are not a member of Twitter, there is still the possibility that Twitter will find out and save your IP address.

The purpose and scope of the data collection and the further processing and use of the data by Twitter as well as the related rights and setting options for the protection of your privacy, can be found in the privacy policy of Twitter.

If you are a Twitter member and do not want Twitter to collect information from you through our website and associate it with your member information stored on Twitter, you must log out of Twitter prior to visiting our website and, if necessary, delete cookies on your system through Twitter.

YouTube-Videos

Our website uses plug-ins of the YouTube platform, which is being operated by YouTube, LLC, 901 Cherry Ave., San Bruno, CA 94066, USA. We use YouTube in the expanded data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode ensures that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video.

Nevertheless, this does not necessarily mean that the sharing of data with YouTube partners can be ruled out as a result of the expanded data protection mode. For instance, regardless of whether you are watching a video, YouTube will always establish a connection with the Google DoubleClick network. As soon as you start to play a YouTube video on our website, a connection to YouTube's servers will be established. As a result, the YouTube server will be notified, which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account while you visit our site, you enable YouTube to directly allocate your browsing patterns to your personal profile. You have the option to prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.

Furthermore, after you have started to play a video, YouTube will be able to place various cookies on your device. With the assistance of these cookies, YouTube will be able to obtain information about our website visitor. Among other things, this information will be used to generate video statistics with the aim of improving the user friendliness of the site and to prevent attempts to commit fraud. These cookies will stay on your device until you delete them. Under certain circumstances, additional data processing transactions may be triggered after you have started to play a YouTube video, which are beyond our control.

The use of YouTube is based on our interest in presenting our online content in an appealing manner. Pursuant to Article 6 Section 1 of the EU GDPR, this is a legitimate interest. For more information on how YouTube handles user data, please consult the YouTube Data Privacy Policy.
